Abstract

|
Amyand’s hernia is an unusual type of inguinal hernia which contains the appendix as hernia content. It is rarely identified during exploration of the hernia contents. The pathology of the appendix may vary from seemingly normal to acute perforated appendicitis with complications. We report a case of a 1-month-old female with Amyand’s hernia who underwent an emergent appendectomy and high ligation of the hernia sac through an inguinal incision.
